Founded by a core team of true blockchain and crypto veterans and enthusiasts, Baboon looks to fund founders that solve real-world problems to make a difference in society. Baboon looks to invest across both equity in crypto/blockchain companies as well as in early stage tokens.
Years of working in family’s family office on property development and traditional finance. Turned crypto believer by a friend during a ski trip, he just wouldn’t shut up about it. Been building and trying in the space ever since.
ANTHONY LAU
Founder
Alex first discovered and purchased Bitcoin in 2010, before proceeding to lose his wallet the next year. He fell down the crypto rabbit hole again in 2015 and joined the space full time in 2018. Prior to Baboon, Alex was at a single family office helping manage both traditional and crypto portfolios. Before that Alex helped co-found a crypto OTC desk, Llama Brothers, and acted as their CSO, while simultaneously managing a crypto book for a private investment company that seeded Llama Brothers.
Prior to diving head first into the crypto space, Alex spent the better half of the past decade in various traditional finance roles, ranging from sell-side equity research and broking to co-managing a multi-strategy hedge fund. Alex started his career in Singapore before moving to Hong Kong in 2015. He enjoys torturously staring at charts and occasionally lifting some very heavy weights.

Kaleem discovered Bitcoin in 2015 but only made his first purchase of Bitcoin and some shitcoins in 2017 and since then never looked back. Kaleem believed that it was ‘now or never’ moment to dive into the nascent asset class, and quit his role as a Portfolio Manager at a traditional asset management firm in 2018 and went full time in crypto.
Prior to Baboon, Kaleem co-founded Llama Brothers, a crypto OTC desk that was based in Hong Kong and Singapore as COO and managed digital asset portfolios. Kaleem's career spanned over one and a half decades in traditional finance, with roles in equity sales, a long/short hedge fund and as co-founder of an asset management company, all of which were not even close to the fun and robustness of the cryptoverse.

Probably like many others, Daniel was introduced to crypto through the wonderful marketplace that was The Silk Road. While he spent the last market cycle in college, he probably should have left for crypto then, and is not missing his chance this time.
Before Baboon, Daniel helped manage an equity portfolio and operations for a family office. As an ex-gamer, he is particularly excited about what crypto-enabled games will bring and for the arrival of the metaverse. You can find him in his free time scanning Twitter for alpha and lurking in Discords as 'danieln'.
